All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and will take place at The Paradigm Annex Theatre in Sheboygan. Tickets are limited and can be purchased for $10.00/ticket at Paradigm Coffee & Music in the weeks preceding each show. Audition dates TBD.
SHIRLEY VALENTINE by Willy Russell
Taking the form of a monologue by a middle-aged, working class Liverpool housewife, the play focuses on Shirley’s life before and after a transforming holiday abroad.
THE LARAMIE PROJECT by Moisés Kaufman
The play draws on hundreds of interviews conducted by the Tectonic Theatre Project with inhabitants of Laramie, Wyoming, where gay youth Matthew Shepherd was brutally attacked and murdered. Drawing also from company members’ own journal entries and published news reports, the play is divided into three acts, and actors portray more than sixty characters in a series of short scenes.
DOG SEES GOD: CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE BLOCKHEAD by Bert V. Royal
An “unauthorized parody,” the play imagines characters from the popular comic strip Peanuts as teenagers. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion, sexual relations and identity are among the issues covered in this drama.
DOUBT: A PARABLE by John Patrick Shanley
Accusations, theological arguments and moral repercussions pervade the halls of St. Nicholas school in the Bronx. Father Flynn and Sister Aloysius engage in a war of conscience over a perceived improper relationship with a boy at the school, illustrating that the line between certainty and uncertainty is thin, especially when being wrong can ruin lives.
