In order to avoid conflicts with other performances happening in the Paradigm music venue and other local theatrical productions, Studio Players’ production of The Curious Case of the Watson Intelligence will play March 10-12 at 7:30 p.m., one week earlier than originally announced.
Watson was a 2014 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and explores society’s changing relationship with objects through the lives of four notable Watsons.
Watson: trusty sidekick to Sherlock Holmes; loyal engineer who built Bell’s first telephone; unstoppable super-computer that became reigning Jeopardy! champ; amiable techno-dweeb who, in the present day, is just looking for love.
These four constant companions become one in this brilliantly witty, time-jumping, loving tribute (and cautionary tale) dedicated to the people—and machines—upon which we all depend.
Watson will close Studio Players’ fourth season. The seasons begins with The Rocky Horror Show on October 29, 2015.

Studio Players, in cooperation with Sheboygan Theatre Company, is proud to announce its 4th Season, to be performed at the Paradigm Annex from Fall 2015 through Spring 2016.
The 4th Season kicks off with Studio Players’ first foray into musical theater with The Rocky Horror Show, music, lyrics and book by Richard O’Brien. Brad and Janet come upon the home of the sweet transvestite, Frank ‘n’ Furter, and his gang of misfits. This kitschy rock ‘n’ roll sci-fi gothic is perfect for the Halloween season, and Studio Players will celebrate with a special midnight performance on October 31. The rest of the performances will run October 29-31, 2015 at 7:30 p.m.
In Jonathan Tolins’ deliciously funny send up of a pop icon, Buyer & Cellar takes a real setting (the boutique-style basement of Barbra Streisand’s California estate) and imagines what it would be like to be the shop keeper of Ms. Streisand’s mini mall. One actor takes on seven roles in this fast-paced and witty one-act play. Performances are January 28-30, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.
Finally, Studio Players takes our audience on a time-bending adventure in The Curious Case Of The Watson Intelligence, by Madeleine George. The titular “Watson” refers to Sherlock’s right hand man, Alexander Graham Bell’s assistant, the super-computer/Jeopardy! champion, and a regular IT worker trying to make sense of life and love in the modern day. A small cast embodies many -roles as the play jumps back and forth in time and space. Performances are March 17-19, 2016 at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets for shows will be available for purchase online and in person at Paradigm Coffee & Music a few weeks prior to each show. Audition information for each production will be found on www.StudioPlayers.net. Find Studio Players on Facebook and follow @StudioPlayersWI on Twitter for updates as they happen. Studio Players’ final show of their third season is Yankee Tavern by Steven Dietz, directed by Shari Roehl and starring Rusty Mehlberg, Katy Ries, Randy Stache & Daniel Hennell. Shows run April 9-11, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at the Paradigm Annex. Tickets are available through TicketLeap.
Just when you thought you’d heard every crazy 9/11 conspiracy theory, a stranger walks into the Yankee Tavern. There, inside the walls of this crumbling New York tavern, a young couple finds themselves caught up in what might be the biggest conspiracy of all. Steven Dietz’s acclaimed and already widely produced dramatic thriller—a selection of the National New Play Network’s Continued Life Project—is a fierce, funny and ultimately mind-bending work of theatrical power that grips you until the final word. What you don’t know can hurt you.
Auditions for Studio Players’ second show of the 2014-2015 season, Extremities by William Mastrisimone, will be held Saturday, September 13 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at Horace Mann Middle School. Director Shari Roehl is seeking three women (20s-early 30s) and one man (30s-40s) for this jolting drama that explores the fraught aftermath of an attempted rape and the lengths to which the intended victim would go for revenge. Actors will read from selected scenes. Perusal scripts are available through STC Managing Director Tom Berger at 607 S. Water Street in Sheboygan.
