Compared to the Redmi 6 and the Redmi Note 7, the Redmi 7 has a major upgrade in almost every aspect. The successor offers a better performance, a better display and a better price. The Redmi 7 is a great entry level smartphone.

It has a decent camera, a decent battery and good performance. It does not burn out highlights and it does not have a lot of lag when multitasking or switching between apps. It also has a lot of customization options. The Redmi 7 features a dual camera setup.
The primary camera has a 12MP resolution and a 2 MP depth sensor. There is also an 8 MP selfie camera. The camera is equipped with an AI feature that gives a boost to the saturation of images. In addition, the camera can capture images in HDR. It also has a flash cutout.
The Redmi 7 comes with a powerful processor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC has a 14nm octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz. The chipset is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD card slot that supports up to 512GB of external storage.
Xiaomi Redmi 7 comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. The sensor is easy to reach and unlocks the phone without the need to press a button. It also has a power button and a volume rocker. The back of the phone is covered in a protective plastic film.
The screen on the Redmi 7 has an HD+ display with a resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels. It has a 19:9 aspect ratio and is capable of 353 LUX of brightness. The Redmi 7 uses Gorilla Glass 5 for its display. It also has a screen-to-body ratio of around 87 percent.
The Redmi 7 has a good set of speakers. They are loud enough to hear in video and music, but the sound is lacking in richness. They also have a lack of bass.
The Redmi 7 runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. While MIUI has a lot of positives, it also has some negatives. One of these negatives is that it has ads on the lock screen and in the notification shade. However, users can turn off the ads on their phones.
The Redmi 7 is powered by a 4000mAh battery. The battery can last for up to two days on a single charge. The battery does not support fast charging. It is charged through the older microUSB port. However, the phone can be charged with a 10W charger.
Xiaomi Redmi 7 is available in India through Amazon India and Xiaomi’s official website. It is available in three colours and two storage variants. The base variant has 2GB of RAM and the top variant has 3GB of RAM. The base variant is priced at INR 7,999. The top variant costs INR 8,999. It also comes with No Cost EMI on major credit cards.
