Despite being a new smartphone from a well-established brand, Oppo Reno 7 does not have an exceptional value proposition. It is not built for heavy gaming and multitasking, and there are more advanced devices in its price range. Its camera performs well outdoors, but its portrait mode is shaky in low light conditions. The display is serviceable, but not as good as competing devices. It’s also missing support for HDR 10 content.

Oppo Reno 7 features a dual camera setup with an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP f/2.4 macro sensor. It also has a 32MP selfie sensor. It has a Face Unlock feature, which allows users to unlock their smartphone using a facial recognition system. The camera also has a Night Mode, which helps it to take good photos in low light. The images are smooth and the colours look realistic. The portrait mode is also decent, but it struggles in low light.
Oppo Reno 7 comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The battery on the phone is 4500mAh. It also has a fingerprint sensor. The front and back of the phone have Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It also has a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a maximum pixel density of 443 pixels per inch. The screen has a 90Hz refresh rate and a 430 nits peak brightness.
The Oppo Reno 7 comes in a variety of colors. The Starlight Black and Cosmic Black models are more subdued and can be considered as a better option. The Reno 7 also comes with a transparent plastic case. This is another new feature of the phone. There is also a USB-C cable included.
The main selling point of the Oppo Reno 7 is its camera. The 8MP ultra-wide lens takes great pictures outdoors, but it also does decent work indoors. The camera has a 2MP macro lens for shooting small details. The camera also has an automatic exposure adjustment that helps prevent images from looking oversharpened. It also has an advanced Night Mode, which helps it take pictures in low light.
The Oppo Reno 7 also has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The sensor performs better than the one in the Google Pixel 6 Pro. The phone also has a USB-C cable and a transparent plastic case. The battery can last for two days with moderate usage. It can also be charged with an Oppo 65W fast charging brick.
Powered by a Snapdragon 680 SoC, the Oppo Reno 7 features four Cortex-A53 CPUs and an Adreno 610 GPU. The SoC was optimized for better power efficiency and heat dissipation. The GPU also offers better performance than the one on the Pixel 6 Pro. It’s also a better option for multitasking than the one on the Pixel 6.
The display on the Oppo Reno 7 is also serviceable. The screen has a 90Hz refresh, but the maximum pixel density is only 443 pixels per inch. It offers a smooth viewing experience with on-screen content. The display also offers some software options to make colors more vivid. The screen also has an Eye Comfort option, which helps the user’s eyes from glare and blue light. The screen also features an HDR certification, which helps it deliver a wider range of colors.
