Auditions for The Curious Case of the Watson Intelligence

Watson_WebArtStudio Players and director Dan Burkey are pleased to announce auditions for The Curious Case of the Watson Intelligence.

Auditions will take place May 23rd and 24th, 6-8 PM at the SASD Rec Department (new location).

This time-hopping romantic comedy by the whip-smart Madeleine George focuses on the private lives and loves of the people who stand behind the scenes of greatness.

Three actors will play a number of roles that span time and space but conveniently have the same names each time:

Eliza, 30s Brilliant visionary programmer with a tumultuous love life. Plucky midcentury radio host. Victorian damsel in distress.
Merrick, 40s-50s  Bumbling modern politician. Brilliant Victorian inventor with a troubled love life.
Watson, 20s-60s A century’s worth of Watsons, determined to improve the lives of others:
Dr. Watson, sidekick to Sherlock Holmes. Thomas A. Watson, sidekick to Alexander Graham Bell (“Mr. Watson, Come here, I want you”). Watson, the supercomputer that beat Ken Jennings on Jeopardy! Josh Watson, an amiable guy who fixes computers.

Potentially handy (but not mandatory) superpowers include British accents, quick costume changes, and mustache growing.

AUDITIONS: May 23rd and 24th, 6-8 PM at Horace Mann Middle School (Leslie W. Johnson Theater), with possible callbacks May 25th, as needed.
Performances will be June 30-July 2 at the Paradigm Annex.
